Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress, who is employed in television, film as well as theatre. The most famous of her roles is Teri Joe the fiery lawyer from her role on the Showtime show Soul Food. In the years following her marriage, she is also known for her role as Nikki Kodjoe. Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland, she was always fascinated by acting. Contractor who was born in Mumbai and resided in Nigeria for seven years, had a wide range of adventures and cultural encounters from the age of. After boarding school, during seven years of London the family moved to Toronto Canada in which she lived for most of her youth and into early adulthood. When she was in Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics and became an classical ballerina. She was enrolled in the Etobicoke School of the Arts. It is a special high-school for the arts, where she did not only study theater but danced too. Contractor began her acting career at 16 after completing a total of 10 years in dance. When she graduated from high-school with a full tuition scholarship to University of Toronto where she was a theatre student with a dual degree in psychology and Sociology. Contractor got her first part in the midst of her university year. Her work was highly acclaimed throughout the 92 productions that she performed in. She was awarded the award in 2002 for the Best Production of the Year, as judged by Canadian Critics. The conservatory in Stratford is home to eight males with four females, along with a couple of others for a week crash course. Contractor received a guaranteed spot in the following season of productions and was offered the role as Hermia as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
